PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING PRIOR TO BIDDING... Diner accessory made during WWII by Madison Hardware, Lionel’s No.1 authorized dealer. Diner is made from original masonite base similar to a 442 diner, with a brown/yellow 637 streamlined coach attached. Roof top "Diner" sign, end support blocks and plastic canopy are 1940’s vintage, fabricated by Madison. It is missing front steps and some shrubs, that would be similar to what was on a 442 diner. Some rub marks at door where steps were, otherwise body is near EX. Interesting piece of Lionel history. Madison did their best to keep trains available during the war with on-hand parts. This is only the 3 rd example of this accessory we have ever had. It has a factory hole underside, so it can sit it over a light fixture.
