This Lionel Postwar Transformer was the second most powerful unit produced by them. This model or type is known as “KW” which produces 190 watts of output on 115 volts & 60 cycles & had a production era from 1950 to 1965. This transformer has the floating lamination stacks and was produced from 1950 to 1956. The “KW” transformer can operate a 2 trains at once with separate controls for variable voltage produced to run the engines, separate directional buttons but the whistle control lever is shared between them depending which way its pushed to activate the whistle, and the circuit breaker is also shared. It has enough fixed power to handle accessories for each setup. This unit was fully disassembled for cleaning & servicing. On reassembling it, the following services was done: Installation of 2 New Carbon Rollers & Pins, Installed with an Upgraded from the old style circuit breaker to a New Sealed 10 AMP Thermal Automatic reset Circuit Breaker, Installed an Upgrade from the old rectifier disc to a New 16 AMP Stud Diode, Installed a New Spacer Disc, Replaced The "A" & "B" Caps with New Repro Orange Caps along with 2 New Black Knobs, Replaced Whistle Control Handle with New Repro Orange Whistle Control Handle, Replaced all 6 Binding Post Terminals, Everything else to my knowledge is original including the power cord which is very read more
