LIONEL STANDARD GAUGE 392E AND TENDER – ESTATE FIND This train was part of an estate collection I recently acquired. There are several old Lionel train sets in this estate that I am listing. Please note – My expertise is in Coin Operated Machines. I am not a train dealer or collector and know very little about them. I will attempt to describe each item the best I can. Please look at the pictures to judge the condition Here we have a Lionel Black / Copper trim 392E Engine. The frame is solid with no visible breaks or cracks. The engine appears to have a nice original finish. Paint looks to be original with some scratches and chips from normal use. The locomotive is not frozen up and the wheels and levers move freely when pushed. This is a vintage Pre-War Standard Gauge locomotive. There is some minor corrosion or rust on the right side window insert and on the underside metal wheel brackets and axles. Close up pictures show this clearly. It is being sold “AS IS” since I was not able to test run it. The engine is very heavy. The 12 wheel tender does appear to have a repaint or restoration, although I am not sure. It is in better condition than the engine and has no corrosion just some minor paint chipping. I have no way to test this engine to see if it runs.
