Up for auction is a Lionel Train No. 156 Illuminated Station Platform with original Lionel box. The base and roof is Bakelite and is painted green and red respectively, while the diecast posts supporting the roof are silver. There are sections of black plastic picket fence that fit between the posts. Two lights are installed under the roof and four tin lithographed miniature billboards hang from the picket fences. The 2 sided signs are Sunoco Gas Oils, Remington Portable Typewriters, Enjoy Baby Ruth Every Day and Fleers Double Bubble Chewing Gum. On the bottom it has Cat. No-156 Station Platform, Made in U. S. of America, The Lionel Corporation, New York, N. Y. There are 2 clips for wires under the base for the station roof lights. There is some red paint flaking off the roof, please check pictures. The station is in good used condition and has some marks where it was fasten, please check pictures. These older Lionel parts are hard to find especially with the original box.
