Up for bidding is a recently restored 1946 version of a Lionel 2020 S2 Steam Turbine Locomotive with Dual Worm Drive and an 1130T Streamlined Non-Whistling Tender, The Locomotive components are original with the exception of the parts described below. The Locomotive has been dis-assembled, de-greased and meticulously cleaned. The Locomotive Shell was stripped and re-cleaned, and then painted using a three step process. The Locomotive was then re-assembled using modern lubricants and new parts needed to restore it electrically and mechanically to near new operation, Rated as excellent in these catagories. The Locomotive has completed about 10 hours of testing after restoration with no problems. The Locomotive is fast and powerful in both directions with fully functional reversing unit (E-unit). The smoke unit has a new lamp, flapper, and spring. The lamp serves as both headlight and smoke generator. Parts replaced on the Locomotive include the motor brushes, motor brush springs, and drive shaft bearings. The Locomotive Trucks have new mounting studs, springs, washers, and the rear truck has a new drawbar. The motor commutator was re-surfaced prior to installing new brushes and springs.
