This is a vintage Lionel Watt ZW transformer. This early model (1948-9) ZW has 4 variable outputs (A, B, C, D) and can power up to 4 trains independently. I have used this transformer on my layout and it is fully operational. The unit is very clean inside and out with no rust or cracks in the case or bottom plate (see pictures). The case has a clean black color and is not faded also there is no fading on the handles. The lettering is clear and bright. The two emblems are original and bright. A ll terminal posts are in good condition and tight. I have replaced the power cord with a new one. It has been tested for the following: All four outputs provide proper voltage and currents. All four rollers are working well. Circuit breaker is functional as well as red warning light. Both whistle and reverse levers work correctly. If the auction winner wants I will upgrade the whistle circuits with two silicon 6A05 diodes while leaving the original copper ones in place. Or I will provide the diodes for the winner to install them. Silicon diodes tend to work better than the original copper oxide ones. This auction is limited to the continental United States due to shipping cost.
