Saved this delight for the last of our listings this weekend. "This Little Piggy is Going to Market". Seriously, for all the fun, Lisa Larson produced great animal figure pottery from about 1957 to the early 70's. This little guy was Made in Sweden by the great name, Gustavsberg. A wonderful pottery pig, and besides being absolutely charming, has the practical side of being a candleholder. The color of his body is light blue w/cobalt blue designs on the sides in High Gloss Glaze. This little piggy stands on four feet and has four wells on his back to hold candles. Measures over one foot long, (about 12 1/2") with the diameter of the body being about 2 1/2". A very substantial little guy. No glaze craze or crackle, chips, "fleabites", cracks or repairs. Impressed Lisa L Gustavberg mark along with paper Gustavsberg Sweden label. Starting at 36. (way, way below true value) with no reserve. I hope to keep our auctions with minimal need to use reserves because it gives bidders a chance for great deals and for us, an outlet for our "things". So, "bid it up" From our personal collection.
