LISTED AMERICAN ARTIST EXCELLENT ANTIQUE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR You are bidding on a very fine and well executed large antique original watercolor of cottage scene with lack and tress by well listed American artist; Dubois Fenelon Hasbrouck (1860-1934) in very good condition. It is in original wooden frame under glass. The piece is signed in the lower right: D.F, Hasbrouck N.Y . It is a master work with very fine details and use of beautiful colors. D.F. Hasbrouck was born in Pine Hill, NY in 1860 and died in Stamford, NY in 1934. He exhibited at The Brooklyn AA from 1884-86; NAD, 1885-94; Boston AC, 1886-93; AIC, 1888-89. Dubois Hasbrouck was a gifted Impressionist known for his rustic, wooded landscapes. Born in Pine Hill, New York, Hasbrouck painted the austere farms, deep woods, and enclosed forest interiors of the region. His atmospheric paintings convey the starkness of winter and the softness of spring, expressing a deep interest in the subtleties of each season. Hasbrouck exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Brooklyn Art Association, the Boston Art Club, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the 1893 Columbian Exhibition. His work is now included in museums across the country, including the National Gallery of Art and the San Diego Museum of Art.
