Winner receives an original large signed bronze sculpture by well listed Mexican artist Francisco Zuñiga (1913-1998). The piece is signed on the verso, along the woman's backside just before the base, seen magnified in picture 9. Some galleries have titled the piece "Seated Woman" or "Mujer Sentada". The piece measures roughly 16" high x 10" wide x 9.5" deep. The piece is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. There is some light scattered pitting that is not an eyesore. He studied drawing, stone sculpture, and engraving at the School of Fine Arts in San Jose. Later, in 1936, he studied stone carving at La Esmeralda in Mexico City. He was appointed to the faculty of La Esmeralda where he remained until his retirement in 1970. Zuniga's art reflects a love and respect for Central American people and traditions.
