Great oil painting by the well listed NYC artist, Susan Kahn. The subject is a young woman painted in an expressionistic style. It is framed in an expensive Hydenryk frame (sticker on back). The woman's eyes are green, as is the background. Her top is lilac with purple stripes and her hair is black. Painting is signed on lower left. On the reverse side is a label from the ACA Galleries. The title is "Cynthia" and the price was $2300. Condition: The painting is in great condition. Frame is in good vintage condition with some dings and small chips, mostly on corners. Slight stain on frame liner-hardly noticeable. Measurements: 12" X 16", with frame 22-1/2" X 26"Susan Kahn: 1924-2010. She went to the Parsons School of Design, studied with Moses Soyer and is known for painting portraits and figures and is a 20th c. modernist. Susan Kahn won the National Association of Women Artists Award in 1981 and 1987, the Edith Lehman National Association of Women Artists and the Simon Award for women artists. Collections where her work is found: Albrecht Gallery Museum, Montclair Museum, Reading Museum, Joslyn Art Museum, The University of Wyoming Art Museum and the Butler Institute of American Art.
