You are bidding on original second edition 4th class Lithuania's Grand duke Gediminas interwar order. Order is original interwar (1918-1941 era),orders strip is original, but modern (made after 1991) and the metal strip connecting them is replica. It is a rere item and would be a nice addition to any militaria collector. Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas Order was established in 1927 9 December by Prime Minister Augustinas Voldemaras initiative. The first edition medal was created by artist Andrius Lopuchinas. 1929 Order had a slight upgrade by Jonas Buračas. In 1928-1930 was four, then five classes of medal. It was manufactured by manufactured by the Swiss firm "Hugues de Frères, Le Locle, ribbons Aude Danish Company" Morch & Sons. In 1928-1940 the fifth grade of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas Order was awarded to 852 people, including 68 foreigners. Order made from silver, middle of it covered by gold. Order size is 42 mm.
