Available for purchase is a QTY (2) set of 1 1/2" scale drifter or snifter valves for live steam locomotives. Two are typically used on a locomotive. For use with valve chests which have the 'slide valve' type cylinders. Pressurized steam in the valve chest activates closure of valve. When your engine is drifting or coasting with the closed throttle, this valve opens to allow air to be drawn into the valve chamber from the outside. Good insurance against cinders or soot from the smokebox exhaust re-entering the valve chest. 1/4-40 straight threads for installation. Free shipping in USA only.
