Lobmeyr Czech Bohemian Art Glass Moser Enamel Pitcher- 8 Pc. Persian Water Set! Presenting an Exquisitely Decorated Bohemian Art Glass Eight (8) Piece Persian Motif Enameled Water Set for your auction pleasure. Produced around the turn of the last century at one of the premier Novy Bor glass houses, we believe this masterwork of painted glass to be a product of Lobmeyr or Goldberg during the J&L Lobmeyr Era, a high point for quality for these glass houses and the finest wares of this type produced in general. Both Goldberg and Lobmeyr produced variations of this lovely Central Asian banded design, but we believe this particular design to be Lobmeyr. And this particular type blank is also favored by Lobmeyr. The material is very fine (muslin) glass which is mouthblown in wooden molds. Named after the finely woven French fabric, muslin glass is crystal blown to a thickness of only .7 – 1.1 mm. It appears delicate, but is remarkably resilient thanks to its inner elasticity & formal construction, perfected by the company since the year 1856. Each exquisite gold encrusted & polychrome band was painstakingly stencil painted by hand. The water pitcher measures 9" tall X 6 5/8" wide (at widest). And it weighs 1 pound, 8 ounces. Each of the Seven (7) footed water glasses measures 4 3/4" tall X 2 3/8" wide and holds 4 fluid ounces. And we are pleased to report that this lovely pitcher & tumbler serving set remains in excellent condition. After careful scrutiny, there are no cracks, chips, interior hazing, nicks or other major flaws present. I note only some minor gold & polychrome paint wear present to the pitcher only. The bottom band of the pitcher shows some paint wear & losses, as shown in the final 3 detail images that you see. However, we are pleased to report that the top band (like the seven water glasses) shows almost no paint wear whatsoever! The two tumblers with the most wear are shown in the light box images #12 & #13. This gorgeous 100 year old treasure remains well preserved by all standards and ready to beautify your home interior for another 100 years!!
