The Tyne captured the pirate shooner Zaragozana in Cuba 20 pirates were hanged. Logbook of a Journal of a voyage from England to the east Indies in HMS Tyne James Block and John Harper Captains commencing 1814. Kept by Cotter Midshipman. In neat old fashioned handwriting on apparently handmade paper. 3 pp are faded. Most pages have a waterstain on the bottom of them w/o obliterating the text. Approx. 60 pp bound with a string on the last page is a list of 6 captains. The last one was in command from Aug. 22, 1815 to 25 May 1816. Also included is a beautiful watercolor of the vessel and 11 architectural drawings and other materials relating to the building of the ship. The accurate drawings are not contemporary with the log book bur were made by a ship historian about 50 years ago and are totally authentic. 13.75 x 9 in. rebound in 1/4 leather and blue boards.
