Hello, h ere we have a very nice 50 million year old Diplomystus dentatus fish fossil on its 100% natural matrix! Fifty-million years ago an ancient Fossil Lake existed in what is now southwest Wyoming. The unusual chemistry of the lake created conditions that prevented decay and scavenging, while alternating layers of limestone and organic matter accumulated. The resulting laminated limestone contains the highest concentration of articulated fish fossils in the world! The fish fossil measures about 3 3/8" or 8.5cm and the overall piece measures about 4.5" or 11.2cm at its biggest! If you have any questions please email.
