Up for auction is this neat Fiesta Ware Sugar & Creamer, featuring Pepe Le Pew & Penelope Pussycat from the American Classic Cartoon Looney Tunes! With absolutely no chips, cracks, or scratches on them. The bright yellow is an eye catcher for sure, especially with the classic Fiesta Disk design. The sugar bowl measures approx. 5" wide & 4" tall. The creamer measures approx. 2" 1/2 tall & 4" 1/2 wide. The tray measures 10" long & 4" 3/4 wide. We found the following on Wikipedia. Pepé Le Pew is a fictional character in the Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons, first introduced in 1945. A French skunk that always strolls around in Paris in the springtime, when everyone's thoughts are of "love", Pepé is constantly seeking "l'amour" of his own. However, he has two huge turnoffs to any prospective mates: his malodorous scent, and his refusal to take 'no' for an answer, blissfully convinced that the girl is flirting with him, even when she rejects his advances to the point of physically assaulting him. Pepé is stereotypically French in the way Speedy Gonzales is stereotypically Mexican. Penelope Pussycat is a fictional character, an anthropomorphic cat featured in the Warner Bros. classic Looney Tunes animated shorts. Although she is typically a non-speaker, her "meows" and "purrs" were most often provided by Mel Blanc using a feminine voice. In the 1959 short Really Scent, she was voiced by June Foray. As of 2012, her only real speaking role was in the 1995 short Carrotblanca, where she was voiced by Tress MacNeille. It can be postulated with the inconsistencies in her naming that every sighting of her is simply a random black cat until "Penelope Pussycat" was named on screen in Carrotblanca using the black cat animation.
