An original lot of 15 World War II vintage letters written to a Navy soldier Carroll Glenn Flanagan by his girlfriend Ethel Coty. Two or three are written to him by other people. The letters include the original envelopes which all have the address U.S.S. Bataan B Division. The following are some excerpts from the letters: 2/16/44 Hi My Dearest Darling: I'm sorry I didnt get a chance to write you last night, darling, but it seems I had a million things to do and I was tired so I went to bed early, thus I never got a chance to tell you how much I care. I received your very lovely Valentine and grand letters today and I want to thank you for both. I love my Valentine and you are very sweet....talking to you on Valentine's Day was the sweetest and most wonderful Valentine I could have ever wished for and it was so very wonderful to hear your voice again and know you are finally back after all these weeks. Oh, thank god, Dearest that you are back safe and sound.....As Ever And Always Your Loving Ethel 9/15/43 Hello Glenn Darling: Well, I'm back again in West Newton and I've been about twenty minutes.
