Click on thumbnailto enlarge Antique Clay Chinese Mud Men Figurines ~Elderly Men These are one of the most sought after Chinese antique figurines. Known as 'Mud Men,' 'Mud People,' or Mud Figurines, they were made 20th Century -- 1020s to WW II. The minis -- such as the ones in this listing -- date to 1905. They generally depict Chinese Elders. These smaller figures were often used as decorations in fish tanks. The bottom is incised with 'CHINA' on most. *All of these are very fragile.Included in this lot: 3" Tall elder man, in a sienna brown robe that is dragging at his feet, a jug in his right hand. In excellent condition for its age, no breakage that I could see. Bottom mark 'CHINA'. 4-3/4" Tall dark-skinned man in blue robe with sack in left hand, long turban on head. Some crazing, some chips around feet. No bottom mark. 5" high elder man, stooping down on ornate 'leaf'
