Lot of 2 Vintage Bicycle Postcards, Taisho Era Japan, Bike Race, Bike Messengers LOTOF 2 VINTAGE JAPANESE BICYCLE POSTCARDS RACE MESSENGERS TAISHO ERA For your consideration is this lot of 2 Taisho era postcards, circa 1907-1918 as the dividing line on the reverse is 1/3 from the left edge, featuring bicycles. One of the cards shows a race about to begin between approximately 15 riders; the other card features two photographic inserts framed with a colorful depiction of Mt. Fuji and two bird – one of these inserts shows 40+ bicycle messengers. These two cards, both printed via collotype, though the color illustration is lithographic (not offset), each measure 5 ½ inches by 3 ½ inches. The race has two cancelled stamps and several names on the reverse. Good+.
