These lovely bookends were carefully crafted by the PM Craftsman company in the 1950s, having been cast in bronze molds of the company's own design. The oak leaf is special in its meaning of faith and endurance, and this set has endured beautifully all of these years! We found them in an vintage collectibles shop, and they are nickel and bronze plated, with one having a copper finish, and the other brass. As seen in the picture, one of the bookends has suffered a little wear, with a small chip on the top and a crack at the side of the base; overall this doesn't distract from its beauty or functionality, though. These types of bookends are highly collectible and prized for their subtle nuances of the Art Deco period, which enjoyed a resurgence in the 1960s. They are marked with the company's initials, and each measures 6-1/4" high x 4" wide. Together they weigh just over 3 lbs. Perfect for the Fall season. A portion of this sale goes to the Colon Cancer Alliance in honor of our daughter.
