Lot of 2 vintage color embossed Halloween postcards. The first depicts flying witches, jack-o'-lanterns, and two children looking up at a streetlamp from which is dangling a wooden gate. This is accompanied by a verse that says: "Greetings at Hallowe'en! On Hallowe'en queer things take place; I hope you'll meet them with a smiling face." The second card has an arched black cat standing atop a jack-o'-lantern, with a verse saying: "Hist! you are bid by elf and sprite, To learn what's hid on nutcrack night! Come when the town clock striketh nine, And fun and frolic shall be thine." These card were both used. The first card has a postmark dated 1920, and the second one says 1918. The first one has a 1 cent stamp, and the other has a 2-cent stamp. Both cards are in fair condition, and in both cases, the postmark made some ink marks on the faces of the card s. Both also have some minor bends at and near the corners, and the second one has a small nick near the upper right corner. Note: I'm listing several Halloween postcards, and if you win more than one, the shipping will be free for any additional cards you purchase that are shipped together with the first one, so please wait for a combined invoice.
