For your consideration is a vintage collection of seven 3-dimensionalcardboard Christmas Village houses from the 1940’s.All seven are marked “Japan” or “Made in Japan” on the bottom.The mark is barely visible on one(second from right, bottom row, in our picture of the bottoms), but it IS there.This picture also shows two houses originally priced at 10 cents and one at 25 cents.You can also see from this photo that all seven bottoms are relatively straight,showing that the houses sit nice and flat.All have a hole in the back to insert a light (not included).The largest house is shown in the center of the top row in our first picture.It is 4” high and the base is 5 ½” by 3”.The two smallest (red glittered) ones flank the largest one on the top row.They sit on their bases at an angle to the “street,”and measure 2 ¼” to the top of their chimneys.Each of their bases is 3 ½” by almost 2 ½”.Of the remaining four, two are done in foil cardboard,one in blue with a red checkered roof and the other in gold with a green checkered roof.(The checkered pattern is from “snow” between the “shingles.”Each base is about 4” by 3”.The last two houses are made of (1) red and (1) blue glitter cardboard,and their bases also measure about 4” x 3”.All of the houses have white picket fences (except the two small red ones),and all have mica snow-covered read more
