DETAILS: We are listing this antique Louisiana trade token with a reserve of $95.00. This metal coin appears to be made of some type of copper or other similar metal.The McIlhenny family owns Avery Island near New Iberia. They are best known for manufacturing Tabasco sauce.This is one of a group of McIlhenny Canning Company tokens that I bought years ago from the estate of a woman who was a McIlhenny descendent in the River Oaks area of Houston. We sold four nearly identical tokens on eBay last year. This is the last six of these tokens that we have - we don't have any more left.All these are guaranteed to be authentic antiques and are not modern fakes or reproductions .Be sure and We have included a photo of all six tokens together for comparison, but this auction is only for ONE of the six tokens.MARK/SIGNATURE: One side of the token reads:THIS CHECK IS A RECEIPT FORONEBUCKETOFONIONSThe other side reads:McILHENNYCOMPANYCONDITION: In good to very good antique used condition with some noticeable wear and discolorations to the metal.
