Louisville Kentucky Stoneware Mint Julep Cup Mug This stoneware mug is in excellent near mint condition. It is a small cup or mug that was made by Louisville Stoneware and has a sprig of mint on the front and the recipe for Mint Julep on the back. The mug is 3" tall by 2 3/4" across and is made of heavy gray stoneware. It is clearly marked on the bottom, "Louisville Stoneware, Made in Kentucky." See photos. The painting is done in dark cobalt blue with a tiny amount of green under the flower heads. It will be a lovely addition to your collection or make a thoughtful and cherished gift. Louisville Stoneware is one of America's oldest stoneware manufacturing firms, tracing its roots back to the early 1800s. Located in Louisville, Kentucky, pieces are still handmade and kiln-fired, with each piece bearing its artists' own individual style.
