is a beautiful old turquoise English majolica shell bowl. It is a very nicely moulded and deep scallop or clam shell on three wonderful brown conch shell feet. One of the shells is open. T is crazing to the pink interior of the bowl which is consistent with age. T is a very fine tight 1 1/4' hairline to the interior edge that does not go throughand is very difficult to see (photo 8). The piece is unmarked, though Joseph Holdcroft made many shell bowls like this one. The bowl is 9 1/2 inches long and 4 inches tall. The shellfeet are 3 inches long and 1 inch tall. It is a graceful old piece that is lovely on its own and would also be wonderful filled with shells.I will be listing more majolica in the next week or two. Thank you for looking.
