LOVELY ANTIQUE 18K GOLD DIAMOND TURQUOISE RING c1840 A terrific antique solid high carat gold ring; beautifully made, with ornate shoulders, and high raised galleried head, the claws each set with wonderful old mine-cut diamonds surrounding a lovely rounded turquoise panel. A very unusual and extremely attractive ring! Appears to be an old marriage between head and band. CONDITION : Very good. Some signs of wear commensurate with age and use, no damage. DEFECTS : None. DATE/MARKS : Shank around 1840, head a little later. Not marked. DIMENSIONS : Head 12.4 x 10.3 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
