Lovely antique navy blue wool doll gown or dress for a French fashion, china or other such doll. Made of navy blue wool and a bright plaid silk taffeta on the bodice and hem of gown. High neckline is trimmed in ecru lace, top part of bodice is trimmed in plaid silk taffeta, shirred bodice of navy wool, long sleeves cuffed with plaid taffeta, skirting of gown is done in separate panels, gorgeous wide row of plaid taffeta trims the bottom of gown, entire hemline is done in wide box pleats, fastens in back with mother of pearl buttons, lined on the inside in ecru glazed cotton, hand-stitching, good condition for age, not washed, a few small pinholes scattered in the navy wool, some splitting of the silk taffeta trim from age, particularly in back at the button area, measures 12" Long, 4 1/2" across armpits laying flat, 4 1/2" sleeves and 1" across openings, 5" along neck. an area of lace is loose at neck.
