LOVELY DAMASCENE & SILVER APPLIQUÉS BOJ TURTLE DESK / HOTEL BELL This is a lovely hotel/ desk wind-up bell designed in the form of a turtle. It is highly decorated with two gold color designs forming a star with sterling silver dots appliqués in high relief, foliage & scrolls. The shell is surrounded by a scalloped edge finely decorated which completes the richly enhanced design. It is in general excellent vintage condition as pictured. The shell is in excellent vintage condition. The clockwork mechanism is in very good working order, it sounds clear & loud. It is fully hallmarked to the bottom: ‘ BOJ’ inside an oval cartouche and registration numbers ‘PAT. Nº19536 & No 30366’ , see pictures please. The heavy gold gilded bronze is in very good vintage condition as pictured with normal slight signs of use due to its age. It measures almost 5 9/16” long, full 2 ¾” across to the widest point (back legs) and 1 7/8” high and weighs 15.60 oz ( 442 grams ).
