This is a real collectors item. It was made in the early 80's when George Lowden licensed the making of his guitars to S.Yairi in Japan. (See the history of Lowden guitars on their website)I have owned it from new and it has served me well as a gigging/recording/ and teaching instrument for over thirty years. It was professionally fitted with a Fishman undersaddle pickup which still sounds just fine. I am selling it with a rather battered, but perfectly usable good quality hard case. The guitar has a really nice solid Ceder top, with a Mahogany neck and back and sidesThe sound and playability of the instrument reflects its pedigree. It has a lovely warm, responsive sound, plenty of volume and is a delight to play, and it amplifies really well.Although its condition reflects its age and use, it is still in perfect working order. The various 'dings' and dents are superficial. (see photographs) I have replaced the tuners once, and the replacements are now beginning to show some wear, but are working fine. There is a little fret wear but still plenty of years left in them. I had two volume and tone control knobs in the upper shoulder removed, and the holes filled with matching mahogany when I replaced the original, outdated pickup with the Fishman. (see photo)Pricing the guitar has proved really difficult as you just don't see these models read more
