Check out my other items ! *PRODUCT: Lower Columbia River trade bead strand, ca. mid to late 1800's. The overall condition of the beads on the strand is "very good." It measures 29.5-inches long. The average diameter of the beads is 10mm to 13mm. The beads are a combination of Venetian fancy beads and plain Chinese beads. The solid colored and transluscent blue beads are Chinese. The decorated beads are Venetian. Both were dominent beads traded by the Hudson Bay Fur Company who had a post at Ft. Vancouver on the Washington side of the river across from Portland. And at Ft. Walla Walla at the big bend of the Columbia River, 30 miles west of Walla Walla. Another major trading place on the river was The Dalles, Oregon about midway between Ft. Vancouver and Ft. Walla Walla. The beads in the photos are the beads you will receive.
