This is an ORIGINAL Lute Pease Political Cartoon. This drawing is signed by the artist and is the original used for publication. Measures 15x11 Inches.Lute pease (1869 - 1923) Lute Pease original cartoon artwork. Lute Pease joined the Newark Evening News in 1914 and remained there for over 30 years. Pease was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1949 for his cartoon, Who Me? The cartoon depicted a robed judge, labelled “Court Order” scolding the United Mine Workers Union Leader John L. Lewis. Pease was 80 years old, making him the oldest person at that time to win the Pulitzer Prize.
