The Luzianne Mammy is one of the most beautiful "sterotype" images of the Old South. Our Luzianne Mammy Match Safe is wearing a lovely soft yellow shirt, green skirt and a cobalt striped head wrap with matching apron. She is carrying a pewter colored coffee pot, on a light colored tray with a steaming cup filled with coffee in a highly detailed flowered blue china cup. This match safe is wall mounted and has a hole for hanging in the back. The box of kitchen matches is inserted in the back, and the strikers are accessible through the cut-outs in the sides. The Mammy match safe measures a large 11.5" tall. Each Mammy is completely hand painted. This gives each piece an individuality and personality not found in most of today's "imported" mass-produced ceramic goods. This jar has absolutely NO cold paint (paint applied over the fired glaze), so the colors will never peel, flake or chip, and the item is completely washable. This is a newly created collectible.
