Lynyrd Skynyrd-Street Survivors~Original Flame Cover LP-Insert and Order Form! This listing is for the vinyl record from Lynyrd Skynyrd, titled, Street Survivors. It was released in 1977. (MCA Records 3029~Original U.S. First Pressing-Flames cover with a small sample copy sticker on back). This is a copy of the flames cover which was released and then quickly pulled from the shelves and replaced when the band had their unfortunate plane crash. Lead singer Ronnie Van Zandt; along with guitarist Steve Gaines and his sister Cassie, who was a back up singer all died. On the flames cover it was sad irony that the center flame went right through Steve Gaines, which was probably why they pulled the jacket cover so quickly. He had replaced Ed King who wrote Sweet Alabama; a few years earlier. On this album Gaines blues rock influence was strong as he wrote half the songs and played much of the leads, with Collins and Rossington doing less leads and less writing than their earlier albums. The small picture of the band on the back cover replaced the flame cover. The vinyl is very clean and shiny and grades VG++, with a couple of very light scratches. The record plays great. The gatefold jacket is solidly together and grades VG to VG+, with a ding on the lower left corner, some light cover wear which is mostly on the bottom, a cut corner and read more
