M1 Garand SA Wide Base Gas Tube with Swivel - WWII Bore measures 0.528" (see pic #1 with 0.528 guage inserted.) This is a "GO" guage and must insert without binding. Bore will not accept 0.530 or 0.532 guages. (See pic 2 & 3 where 0.530 gauge stops at end of threads and 0.532 gauge will not start into threads. These are "NO-GO" gauges and should not enter the area following the threads. Off set stake on stacking swivel screw is typical of late WWII-SA production. Used from 2.3 mil to end of war. No letter on top or on lug was used during this time of late WWII. Dimple on right side directly behind swivel screw hole, typical of this late war era SA manufacture. Never saw rebuild in 46/47 as there is only one punch mark on lug. Nice condition, 98-99% finish. Sight base measures 0.590 Came off a functioning rifle. Thanks for looking.
