Up for auction is an extremely rare M1905 M1 bayonet mfg by Wilde Tool Company in 1943. This mfg made the least qty of the WWII bayonets for the M1 Garand rifle, making this mfg a must have for your collection. They made the 16" M1905. The powers that be later decided that 10" would be the ideal length so several mfgs started making the M1 bayonet. However t were hundreds of thousands of M1905 16" bayonets mfg by different companies already out t So they took the M1905 bayonets and cut them from 16" to 10" hence turning them from M1905s to M1s. The WT bayonets are hard enough to find. But what makes this one even more rare is that it has been cut to 10" by AFH, American Fork and Hoe, another WWII bayonet mfg, and it was cut down into the knife point or bowie style which looks absolutely beautiful. The condition of this bayonet is VERY GOOD. Please see the 12 pictures I provided. It has the red/brown grips with the black rectangles that are unique to WT bayonets. When I bought it many years ago it came with the scabbard that it is inserted into in the pictures. You can have that scabbard or the one on the right side in the last picture (the picture with the 2 scabbards, the left one is the original one, the right one is the optional one).
