ITEM UP FOR BID MACKENZIE-CHILDS BAMFORD LIDDED PEDESTAL COMPOTE -- RARE! THIS PIECE IS JUST AS UNIQUE AS IT IS BEAUTIFUL--AN ORIGINAL PIECE AND EXTREMELY EYE-CATCHING THIS PIECE IS VERY LARGE STANDING JUST UNDER 14 INCHES TALL AND THE BOWL (MORE LIKE SNIFTER) IS 5 INCHES IN DIAMETER I will try to describe, but will be difficult. This is truly a work of art as only MacKenzie-Childs could do it! This piece begins with a 5 1/2 inch base with shades of green with blue and yellow lines through it extending to a 2 inch pedestal of shiny silver. The Bowl is smoked glass with purple stripes then flows into a Courtly Check pattern with blue/green stripes on each side with gold dots on those stripes. The gold dots stand out from the surface. The middle of the Bowl is the smoked glass again with elegant rosebuds all around. The upper portion of the Bowl is a pointy banner of coral and green with shiny gold in between. The Bowl is completed with a shiny gold rim circling the edge. A truly lovely hand blown, hand painted piece made from recycled glass. Absolutely Beautiful and Unique The Black Stamp on the Bottom of the Base reads "MacKenzie-Childs, Ltd Aurora, New York. The other sticker is the MacKenzie Childs "Handle with Care" black and white sticker. This piece is in brand new condition and is from, I believe, the original days of Victoria & Richard--It has been stored away for years--First Quality and in Mint Condition--and its just plain wonderful! A rare find to get this one! MacKenzie-Childs artisans have been creating original, handcrafted tabletop and home decor in upstate New York for over 20 years.
