These are four pieces of original art by longtime Mad contributor Paul Peter Porges, for the "Mad's Sure-Fire Sports Predictions For The Upcoming Season" piece, for 1973's Mad #163... This is a bit of an oddity: Porges, who wrote the article, drew these pencil concept pieces as guides the great Jack Davis, who then drew the print versions.(Shown above is a pic of the final article – as you can see, these four panels formed the top tier. A copy of the printed issue is not included in this auction, the image is for reference only.)These sketches are executed on standard 8.5x11" paper, one per sheet, and are in excellent condition.
