Madame Alexander Doll Company "Anna Karenina" 1998 This beautiful 10" Cissette doll has lovely dark golden brown eyes and brunette hair braided on top of her head with bangs framing her pretty face. She has rosy lips and dark brows, with a thoughtful and pensive expression. She is perhaps my favorite Madame Alexander doll of all time. Anna Karenina is my favorite novel and this lovely doll captures the melancholy and romance of that book both in her countenance and her costume. Her dress is a Victorian confection. A maroon fabric with a very subtle broken white stripe composes the the dress, with its high collar and long sleeves. An overskirt is pulled to the back and the dress features a dramatic (and removable) bustled train, edged with three layers of ruffled ivory lace. Ivory lace also trims the hem of the underskirt, the sleeves and collar. Touches of black add elegance and play against Anna's striking coloring - black point lace at her hem, black velveteen studded with crystal buttons on the front of her bodice and black and silver ribbons at the top of her shoulders. Accessories include clear crystal earrings with emerald teardrop dangles, a sentimental ivory against black cameo at her throat and best of all, black velveteen high heeled boots with gold buttons. I really want some boots just like hers for myself! Gently read more
