It was expertly crafted by Karen Hill Tribe . Black lacquer ware is particularly prized by the Karen People because of it's beauty when decorated with various images. And elephants are most revered among animals to the Karen People. Opium Pillows such as this were formerly used throughout South Asia for centuries. Items were stored inside the pillow and then the pillow itself was used to rest the head.
