Obverse has a lovely, even, dark-grey tone with superb legend and bust detail. There is the common strike weaknesses at six o'clock (and reciprocally on the reverse date), a highly collectable shilling. Reverse shares the same darek-grey tone across near proof-like quarter fields. The date weakness is less distracting than some, however, losing the 9 entirely. The remaining details are in even high-relief, making for an extremely eye-pleasing coin. Spink's 2012 catalogue values this type at �425 in EF, and �90 in VF.
