Magnificent Framed Lithographs Raymond (R) Wintz The Blue Door & Harbour Street. Vintage pair is in fine condition with matching high quality frames - see my 12 detailed photos. These are older quality prints, I checked using a 30 power loupe magnifier and there are no tiny dots but smooth colors. The frames look like solid maple with a silver color edge and each measures 21 1/2" x 25 1/2"; the visible artwork is 17 1/2" x 21 1/2" but prints are certain 18" x 22" if measuring under the frame. Both are signed on the art lower right corner R Wintz.Raymond Wintz (Joseph Raimond Wintz) (1884–1956) was a Paris-born painter and engraver whose most famous paintings were of marine and coastal views in Brittany. He is best known for his painting The Blue Door, which is still widely available as a poster and print. Raymond Wintz was born on 25 March 1884. He was the son of the painter Guillaume Wintz (1823-1899) and the husband of the painter Renée Carpentier-Wintz (1913-2003). Raymond Wintz was trained at the School of Decorative Arts and the National College of Fine Arts in Paris. He was a pupil of Jules Adler at the Ecole Francais and started exhibiting at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1910.
