Description: Up for auction is this highly desirable and absolutely exquisite Hand Crafted Bronze Patinated Mantel Shelf Quartz Clock by the most important furniture designers of high end furniture, Maitland-Smith, Designers & Makers of Fine Furniture & Decorative Objects. This Maitland-Smith Hand Crafted Bronze Patinated Mantel Shelf Quartz Clock is absolutely stunning! It is the perfect size - not too big and not too small - and would be perfect on any fireplace mantle or you can place it on a wall shelf, a desk, a sofa table or an end table. Consider putting it on your bedside nightstand or on an entry hall table! I have a similar Maitland Smith clock on my entry hall table and everyone comments on it the minute they walk into my front door. I especially love the antiqued cream dial complete with black Roman Numerals giving it a classic Old World! Very unusual and eclectic...just like most Maitland Smith items! As you can see this is a Quartz Clock and requires one AA battery (not included) to work for years at a time which is great...no having to remember to wind the clock like you do with a traditional key wind mantel clock! A Quartz movement is definitely the way to go! Maitland Smith took its cues from the Herter Brothers and have crafted the most exquisite furniture and decorative accessories I have ever seen by finishing all sides so the pieces can literally sit in the middle of a room and look beautiful... from all sides! Just look at the attention to detail! I love the inclusion of the two carved Pineapples topping each of the side columns supporting the clock.
