The Mamoli Santa Maria wooden ship model is an accurate reproduction of the real life Caravel. The Santa Maria was one of the ships in the fleet of the great navigator Christopher Columbus, who in 1492 discovered the New World. It was a swift ship with a light hull and 3 masts, 2 square-rigged and a lateen mast. Mini-Kits by Mamoli offer well-detailed, high quality kits that are fun and easy to build. Solid wooden hulls are pre-carved and perfectly shaped. Fine grained wooden dowels are provided for the masts and spars, and individual planking strips cover the deck. Authentically scaled fittings include metal parts, cotton rigging and silk-screened flags. One-to-one plans and simple instructions assure a model you'll be proud to display. This kit is ideal for the beginner, with an average assembly time of 15-20 hours. When complete this wooden boat kit measures 335mm in length and 300mm in height.
