Phillips Catalogue Vol. IX: Manchuria 1945 - 1947 Local Overprints CatalogueI n the aftermath of World War II there was a complete breakdown in communications within the various areas of China, and in Manchuria in particular. This brought about the situation where over 270 different localities overprinted the Manchukuo stamps which were previously current there, for use in the newly set up mail services. These services existed until a unified mail service was established in 1947. T his CD is another publication by Mr. Ralph Phillips, who serves as the president of the Local Post Collectors Society and is the publisher of some of the most comprehensive Cinderellas catalogues published during the last few years. The CD offers the Manchuria Local Overprints collector as well as the China specialist collector a wealth of much needed information. The catalogue records some 3000 different stamps and has more than 600 coloured illustrations. Because of the scarcity of many of the items and their rare appearance on the market, it shows NO market values, which in any case would have been a rough estimate, more than a reliable reference. The catalogue is arranged in a word document file and can be used as a reference using your computer, or as a "ready to print" file, of which one may print all 115 pages or just the relevant pages the user
