3 BOWLBACK MANDOLINS OFFERED FOR RESTORATION These mandolins are in good condition and only require new bridges and will then be in full playable. No Reserve DESCRIPTION The mandolins are numbered in the pictures as Mandolin 1, 2 and 3 Mandolin No 1 – Maker not known. Tear drop shaped. Front: The top is spruce, good condition, no cracks or splits just some light varnish “crackle”… not a problem. Has a white plastic scratch plate and a white outer binding. Back and sides: I think made from maple, good condition just a couple of minor chips. Neck: Slight bow not enough to affect playability.Rosewood fretboard 18 frets (including zero fret) all in playable condition. Head/Machine heads: machine heads are all there and in working order, a bit stiif just require some oil.. The tuning pegs are all present, made of plastic and working. Bridge: Missing, needs new bridge Mandolin No 2 ‘A’ style with “f holes” made by Vintage Model “NON133” Front: The front is spruce (I suspect laminated) good condition, no cracks or splits. “f” style sound holes, scratch guard is missing.White binding all around the sides. Back and sides: I suspect maple, good condition just a few minor scratches. The very small screw hole in the side is where the scratch guard was attached.
