This auction is a consignment from one of our clients that we sell for. Item up for auction is an HO scale Mantua 4-6-2 "Pacific" class steam engine with a long haul tender. The body is made of metal but the cab is made of plastic. The drivers and rods are made of metal. Owner has retrofitted the motor with a Sagami can motor that he installed in the cab and you can see it in picture 6. I did test the engine before I took the tender apart from the engine because of shipping and motor runs the drivers very nicely. I did not put any kind of load on the motor so not sure how many cars you could pull with this engine but because it is so heavy it's pulling power might be a pleasant surprise. A Pacific Class engine could be used in freight or passenger service. I can tell you that this IS NOT a Southern Pacific type of engine because the style of the tender and the shape of the locomotive is not like an Espee steam engine. Number the owner has put under the cab window on each side is #2484 . Drive line is mounted at an angle and it goes directly to the front driver set. The center driver on this engine are blind in that means the center driver only has no flanges. Bell on top of the engine is a turned piece of brass for the bell.
