This is the VERY hard to find, 324-page hardcover old book "Manual of the Corporation of the City of New York for the Years 1844-45" by D. T. Valentine. The manual contains everything from the calendar for the year, rules of orders of the Board of Aldermen, Officers of the Corporation, Dock Masters, Superintendent of Buildings, and MUCH more. T are two fold-out tables present; I believe those are the only two fold-out tables printed with this first edition, and no other tables or illustrations are listed in the Table of Contents. The publisher is J. F. Trow & Co.; the printing date is 1844. This hardcover book, without a dust jacket, is in very good condition for its age. The cover shows a fair amount of wear (see photo); t is a price written in pencil at the top of the title page; the last blank page of the book is torn; and t is some foxing throughout. But otherwise, the book is unmarked, quite clean and tight.
