2pp, approx. 8" x 12.25" blue legal sheet, Ravenna, Ohio, Sept. 20, 1847. Agreement between Darius Lyman and Darius Lyman Jr. to form a law partnership for a period of one year, sharing offices and library, etc. The agreement also specifies that neither shall take any private cases during the partnership period, and payment shall be two-thirds of all income to the senior Lyman, one-third to the junior partner. Expenses are also divided accordingly. A rather rough agreement, with numerous cross-outs and ink blotches, but signed by both father and son. The senior Lyman was at one time a candidate for governor of Ohio and founder of the Portage County Temperance Society.Condition: Light overall toning.
