This is an exquisite handled pan to be used on a chafing dish or warming element. This very high quality piece is marked "TRIPLE DEPOSIT / MAPPIN & WEBB'S / PRINCE'S PLATE / LONDON & SHEFFIELD / W 46 70" (please see photo below). This is one of the finest pieces of silverplate I have come across. It is extremely heavy and the silverplate is in immaculate condition. It consists of a handled pan with a draining insert and a seperate triple divider. This piece is of such high quality it could take many, many years before it would show wear. The applied handle is reinforced at the bowl, and the top ring on the lid is removable for ease of cleaning. This fine English company has always been known for making the best quality wares. This is a most unusual serving piece not likely to be found in American design and would be the perfect compliment to a fine warming device for service at the table. This item is apprx. 15.25 inches wide from handle to edge, 6 inches from base to the top of the finial, with a 9 inch diameter to the bowl and a 6 inch base diameter.
