This is a Marantz 8B stereo tube amplifier rated at 35 watts RMS per channel. These came on the market in 1962, judging by the component date codes (most are dated 1961), this is a very early version with the octal socket for early mono preamps. Serial number is: 4815. Cosmetically, this unit is easily 9/10. Just a few cosmetic flaws and t Transformers and all internal components are original, as far as I can tell. The only non-original part is a 3-prong AC cable. The lettering is all prefect; and the bias meter works as it should. All tubes have been tested. Speaking of tubes, recently this model has sold on eBay for $2200 and $2500 respectively with cheap Russian tubes (?!) and no tube cage (it was optional back in '62). This unit comes with Sylvania "fat boy" 6CA7s and the optional tube cage! We tested this amplifier with a Marantz Model 7 tube preamp (for sale in another auction) and high-end speakers. It works perfectly and sounds magnificent! FYI, the orange on the tubes in th pic is a reflection from the table cloth. TERMS: Buyer pays actual insured shipping and handling, FOB 93012. OK to pick up. Pay Pal only, unless picking up...then it's cash. Shipping cost to be determined after auction closes.
